Carve Wood Wiki Carve Wood Workers Tier List on Roblox
Every hire in the worker stall, ranked from S to C, with cost/benefit and the order to unlock them.
Workers are the second leg of the Carve Wood money loop on Roblox — after your axe chops, your workers chop, and your workers do not log out. The worker roster has six named hires plus a hidden seventh hire that unlocks after the third rebirth. The right hire order is what separates a player who clears biome two in a weekend from one who grinds for weeks. This tier list ranks every worker from S to C, gives the cost/benefit for each, and tells you the order to unlock them across your first three saves.
Workers ranked at a glance
- S tier: Master Logger — best output per Robux for any player past the first hour.
- S tier: Foreman — best long-run hire once biome two is online.
- A tier: Apprentice Logger — mandatory from minute one; the only worker you can afford in the first session.
- A tier: Arborist — niche hire that boosts tree growth rate rather than chop speed. Strong if you plant and walk away.
- B tier: Sawyer — solid chop speed but redundant once the Foreman is online.
- B tier: Trucker — only useful for offline growth logging; skip on active play.
- C tier: Carving Apprentice — refunds your carving time but not your chop time. Skip until you have both Sawyers.
- Hidden: Rebirth Foreman — only available after rebirth 3; replaces the Foreman with a stronger chop speed.
The full rationale, cost, and unlock requirement for each hire is below.
S tier: Master Logger
The Master Logger is the second worker you unlock, and it is the single most impactful hire in Carve Wood on Roblox. Cost: 4,500 cash (after the first hire discount). Output: 1.8x the Apprentice Logger’s chop speed, with the same idle behaviour. The Master Logger is what makes the second biome reachable in a single session for any active player — without it, biome two is a multi-day grind.
The reason the Master Logger is S tier rather than A tier is the timing window. The Master Logger is the first hire that costs more than your starting wallet, which means you have to reach the second customer bonus round before you can afford it. Players who try to save for the Master Logger without grinding customer bonuses hit a wall around hour one. Players who stack logs and dump them on the bonus round hit the Master Logger target inside forty-five minutes. The Customer bonus guide page covers the discipline.
S tier: Foreman
The Foreman is the third worker you unlock, and it is the one that turns a passive lumber yard into an actual chop operation. Cost: 18,000 cash. Output: 2.6x the Apprentice’s chop speed, plus a passive +5% multiplier on every customer sale. The +5% multiplier is the reason the Foreman is S tier — it is the only hire that pays you even when you are chopping yourself.
The right time to unlock the Foreman is the moment biome two is online and you have at least 25,000 cash on hand. The How to hire workers page covers the unlock path; the Rebirth Guide covers how to chain the Foreman into a fresh save.
A tier: Apprentice Logger
The Apprentice Logger is the first worker you unlock, and you cannot avoid it. Cost: 800 cash. Output: 0.6x of your own chop speed, with no idle limit. The Apprentice is A tier not because of output but because timing matters — hire it within two minutes of the tutorial closing or you lose the first ten minutes of every save to idle time.
There is no reason to delay the Apprentice. The 800 cash is the cheapest purchase in Carve Wood and the Apprentice pays for itself inside the first five minutes. The Getting started page has the exact click sequence.
A tier: Arborist
The Arborist is the niche hire. Cost: 22,000 cash. Effect: trees in your biome-one plot regrow 30% faster, which compounds across the offline growth curve. The Arborist is A tier because the +30% regrowth on Rare trees is the difference between logging off for 4 hours and coming back to a full yard versus an empty yard.
The Arborist is not for active players. If you play every day and log in every four hours, the Arborist is a luxury. If you play twice a week and log in once a day, the Arborist is the single best hire you can make. The Offline progress page covers why.
B tier: Sawyer
The Sawyer is the fourth worker you unlock. Cost: 12,000 cash. Output: 1.2x the Apprentice’s chop speed, plus a small bonus on carving time. The Sawyer is B tier because the bonus on carving is largely redundant once you have a Foreman — the Foreman’s chop speed bonus means you spend less time chopping and more time carving, which makes the Sawyer’s carving bonus less valuable in practice.
The Sawyer is the right hire if you have not unlocked the Foreman yet but need a chop boost. Skip the Sawyer if the Foreman is one bonus round away.
B tier: Trucker
The Trucker is a passive hire. Cost: 9,500 cash. Effect: while you are offline, the Trucker logs the yard at 50% the Apprentice’s chop rate and deposits the cash on your return. The Trucker is B tier because the offline rate is low compared to the active rate — you are better off hiring the Master Logger and playing for an hour than hiring the Trucker and logging out.
The Trucker is the right hire if you are heading to sleep and want to bank cash overnight. Players who already own the Master Logger should skip the Trucker — the Master Logger’s idle output already exceeds the Trucker’s offline rate.
C tier: Carving Apprentice
The Carving Apprentice refunds your carving time. Cost: 6,000 cash. Output: zero chop speed; the hire is carving-only. The Carving Apprentice is C tier because carving is rarely the bottleneck — chopping is. Once you own both a chop hire and the Foreman, the Carving Apprentice has no role.
Skip the Carving Apprentice until you have a full chop roster.
Hidden tier: Rebirth Foreman
The Rebirth Foreman unlocks after your third rebirth. Cost: 0 (it replaces the Foreman automatically). Output: 4.2x the Apprentice’s chop speed, plus a +12% multiplier on every customer sale. The Rebirth Foreman is the reason speed-run builds on the Best player builds page all target rebirth 3 as the first major milestone.
The Rebirth Foreman is not listed in the worker stall UI until your third rebirth. Players who do not see it should not panic; it appears automatically.
Recommended hire order
For a first save:
- Apprentice Logger (800 cash, mandatory).
- Master Logger (4,500 cash, after the first bonus round).
- Foreman (18,000 cash, once biome two is online).
- Arborist (22,000 cash, only if you play twice a week).
For a second save (after the first rebirth):
- Apprentice Logger (cheaper due to rebirth multiplier).
- Master Logger (cheaper again).
- Foreman (now with the rebirth multiplier stacking on the Foreman’s own bonus).
- Sawyer (only if you have not hit biome three yet).
For a third save (after the second rebirth):
- Apprentice Logger (instant).
- Master Logger (instant).
- Rebirth Foreman (auto-unlocks, replaces the Foreman).

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Who is the best worker in Carve Wood?
The Master Logger is the best first hire for any active player. The Foreman is the best long-run hire once biome two is online. After rebirth 3, the Rebirth Foreman replaces the Foreman and is the strongest in the game.
Should I hire the Arborist?
Only if you play twice a week or less. The Arborist boosts regrowth rate, not chop speed, so it pays for itself only when the yard spends most of its life offline.
How much does each worker cost in Carve Wood?
Apprentice 800, Master 4,500, Sawyer 12,000, Foreman 18,000, Arborist 22,000, Trucker 9,500, Carving Apprentice 6,000. Costs drop on each rebirth due to the multiplier.
Do workers reset on rebirth?
Yes. Workers return to their tier-1 form on rebirth. Re-hire the Apprentice within two minutes of the reset to avoid idle time on the next save.
