Carve Wood Wiki How to Grow Trees in Carve Wood
Tree rarities, growth times, and the fastest paths to the rarest trees.
Carve Wood on Roblox is half chopper, half farmer. The trees you grow in your lumber yard feed the chopping loop, and the rarer the tree, the higher the cash-per-chop. This guide explains the rarities, the growth times, and the upgrade order that keeps your lumber yard stocked with the most profitable trees.
Tree rarities
Carve Wood ships four tree rarities. Each rarity pays a different yield per chop and gates higher-tier biomes.
- Common — 1x yield, biome one. Growth time roughly 30 seconds. The default tree your lumber yard starts with.
- Rare — 1.5x yield, biome one and biome two. Growth time roughly 2 minutes.
- Epic — 2x yield, biome two and biome three. Growth time roughly 6 minutes.
- Legendary — 3x yield, full biome access. Growth time roughly 18 minutes.
Rarity does not change the chop animation; it changes the cash reward and the biome gate. See the Axe rarities explained page for how axe rarity interacts with tree rarity.
Growth time multipliers
Your lumber yard runs a passive growth timer that ticks even while you are offline. The base growth times above scale with three multipliers:
- Biome upgrade tier — each biome upgrade you buy cuts growth time by 10%, stacking up to 50%.
- Worker roster — the Master Logger cuts growth time by an additional 15% on the trees it can reach.
- Customer bonus — the bonus does not affect growth, but it does affect how fast you can afford the next biome upgrade.
If you stack all three, the Legendary 18-minute tree grows in roughly 7 minutes — almost 3x faster than the base.
How to plant the rarest tree
Legendary trees are not unlocked by default. To plant one:
- Reach biome two — see How to unlock biomes.
- Buy the Master Logger — see How to hire workers.
- Spend the Legendary seed token from the in-game shop or a worker milestone.
- Plant the seed inside the lumber yard plot — it grows into the highest-rarity version available.
The full seed economy is on the Update log page whenever the developer changes it.
Common mistakes
- Planting Legendary seeds too early. Without the Master Logger and biome two upgrades, a Legendary seed grows slower than a Rare tree would in the same plot.
- Mixing rarities in one plot. Trees in the same plot share growth timers. A Common and a Rare planted together will both grow at the Common rate. Plant them in separate plots.
- Forgetting the offline timer. If you log out with an empty plot, you miss the offline growth bonus. Always plant before logging out.
How trees feed the chopping loop
Every chop consumes one tree from the plot. The lumber yard re-plants the same rarity after the chop completes, but the cycle is fastest with all upgrades active. If your workers are chopping faster than your trees are growing, your cash flow will stall — the Income calculator shows when tree growth becomes your bottleneck.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How long do Legendary trees take to grow?
About 18 minutes base, but you can cut it to roughly 7 minutes with biome upgrades and the Master Logger.
Can I plant different rarities in the same plot?
Yes, but they will share the slowest growth timer. Plant rarities in separate plots for the fastest cycle.
How do I unlock Legendary trees?
Reach biome two, hire the Master Logger, and spend a Legendary seed token. See [How to unlock biomes](/guides/how-to-unlock-biomes/).
Do trees grow while I am offline?
Yes — your lumber yard grows passively at about 8% of your active rate. Log out with a full plot.
