Carve Wood Tree Rarities and Drop Rates on Roblox

Trees are the raw material of the entire Carve Wood money loop on Roblox. There are four rarities — Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary — and each one spawns in a specific biome, with a specific regrowth time, a specific sell price, and a different drop rate. The drop rates are not published in-game, but the verified pattern after thousands of chops is well-known. This page is the reference table for every wood type, with the math that the How to grow trees and Income calculator pages build on.

Every tree rarity at a glance

The four rarities are:

  • Common — biome one only. Fastest regrowth. Lowest sell price. Highest drop rate. Target for the first hour of every save.
  • Rare — biome one only (after biome two unlocks, Rare trees can also spawn in biome one and biome two plots). Medium regrowth. Medium sell price. Medium drop rate. Target for the bulk of every save.
  • Epic — biome two and biome three. Slow regrowth. High sell price. Low drop rate. Target for whale builds and the Customer bonus guide loop.
  • Legendary — biome three only. Very slow regrowth. Highest sell price. Lowest drop rate. Target for the Rebirth Guide endgame and the Collector round.

The full reference table with regrowth time, sell price, and drop rate is the next section.

Common trees

Common trees are the workhorse of the early game. They spawn exclusively in biome one and they regrow in 90 seconds. The base sell price is 12 cash per log. Drop rate is approximately 65% of every chop attempt, which means about two of every three chops in a Common plot return Common wood.

Common trees are the right target for the first 30 to 60 minutes of a save. The Getting started page covers why: the Common Oak Hatchet is the cheapest upgrade you can buy, and Common trees are the fastest way to fund it. Common trees are also the right target for any active player who is rebuilding a save after a rebirth — the seed bank starts with Common seeds planted, and you sell them to fund the Master Logger hire.

Common trees become redundant around hour two, when the Master Logger is online and the chopping plot can sustain longer waits for Rare and Epic trees. By hour three, every chop should be aiming for Rare or higher.

Rare trees

Rare trees are the workhorse of the mid-game. They spawn in biome one (after the Rare Sapling upgrade) and in biome two. They regrow in 4 minutes. The base sell price is 18 cash per log. Drop rate is approximately 25% of every chop attempt, which means about one in four chops in a Rare-friendly plot returns Rare wood.

Rare trees are the right target for the bulk of every save. The How to grow trees page covers how to upgrade your biome-one plot to spawn Rare trees. Once the Master Logger is online and the second biome is unlocked, the chopping loop should be targeting Rare trees at minimum, with Epic and Legendary as occasional bonuses.

The 25% drop rate means Rare trees are about 2.5x rarer than Common trees, but the sell price is only 1.5x higher. The cash-per-minute math works out roughly equal between Common and Rare once you factor in regrowth time. The win for Rare trees is the bank discipline — Rare logs are the right inventory to hold for the Gold 2x and Gold 3x bonus rounds.

Epic trees

Epic trees are the late-game workhorse. They spawn in biome two and biome three. They regrow in 12 minutes. The base sell price is 25 cash per log. Drop rate is approximately 8% of every chop attempt, which means about one in twelve chops in an Epic-friendly plot returns Epic wood.

Epic trees are the right target for whale builds and for any save that has unlocked the Foreman. The 12-minute regrowth time is the cost — Epic plots are slow to refill, and a save that runs out of Epic wood mid-bonus-round has to fall back on Common and Rare inventory, which pays less. The fix is to keep at least one Epic tree planted at all times, with a second Epic tree as the insurance plot.

Epic logs are the inventory target for the Collector round. The Collector pays 4x the base rate on Epic and Legendary wood, which means an Epic log sells for 100 cash during a Collector round instead of 25. The Customers guide page covers the Collector round in full.

Legendary trees

Legendary trees are the endgame. They spawn in biome three only. They regrow in 35 minutes. The base sell price is 35 cash per log. Drop rate is approximately 2% of every chop attempt, which means about one in fifty chops in a Legendary-friendly plot returns Legendary wood.

Legendary trees are the right target for the Rebirth Guide endgame and for any player chasing the Top richest players leaderboard. The 35-minute regrowth time is the cost, and the 2% drop rate means Legendary plots require patience. The win is the 35 cash per log base rate, which doubles during a Gold 2x round and quintuples during a Gold 5x round.

Legendary trees are not for new players. A new player who tries to plant Legendary trees in biome one will watch them refuse to spawn. The biome gating is the reason the How to unlock biomes page exists — Legendary plots are a privilege of biome three, which is a privilege of multiple rebirths.

How to use the table

The table is the input to the Income calculator. Plug your current axe and worker setup into the calculator, and it will project your cash-per-hour for any mix of the four rarities. The Best player builds page uses the table to rank the three whale builds (speed-run, idle, whale) by their chop-time-weighted cash.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the rarest tree in Carve Wood?

Legendary trees are the rarest, with a roughly 2% drop rate. They spawn in biome three only and regrow in 35 minutes. The base sell price is 35 cash per log, the highest in the game.

What is the fastest regrowing tree?

Common trees regrow in 90 seconds. They are the right target for the first 30 to 60 minutes of a save, when you need fast chops to fund the Master Logger hire.

Which tree should I target for cash-per-hour?

Rare trees are the best cash-per-hour target for the bulk of every save, because the regrowth time and sell price balance out at 18 cash per 4 minutes. Epic and Legendary trees pay more per log but take much longer to regrow.

Do tree rarities affect the customer bonus?

Yes. The Gold 2x / 3x / 5x rounds multiply whatever log you sell. A Legendary log at 5x is 175 cash, which is the highest single-log payout in the game.
