• Yield multiplier is 1.4x — every chop is worth more than the starter.

The Oak Hatchet is B-tier on the Axe tier list — a stepping stone, not an end-game tool — but it is the right first step. Hold onto it until you can afford the next upgrade.

Axe 2: Upgrade to the Rare Pine Pick

Once you have filled your first lumber yard and unlocked your first worker, save for the Rare Pine Pick. The Pine Pick:

• Unlocks the second tier of trees in biome one.
• Doubles your yield versus the Oak Hatchet.
• Pays for itself inside the first session you use it.

Timing matters: do not rush the Pine Pick. Buy it after you have at least one worker assigned to chopping. The worker keeps the cash flow alive while you upgrade.

Axe 3: Save for the Rare Maple Maul

The third axe is where the early game ends. The Rare Maple Maul is the A-tier workhorse — it is the axe most active Carve Wood players log out holding. Wait until you have unlocked biome two before buying it. The Maple Maul is the prerequisite for the next tier of biomes and is worth every token.
